Staying Healthy - The National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) present a new approach for the assessment of overweight and obesity and establish principles of safe and effective weight loss. Calculate your obesity risk online and browse through recipes, shopping tips, and advice on choosing an exercise program. - The National Institute of Diabetes & Digestive & Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) developed this user-friendly site to guide you to resources on safe ways to lose weight, eat right, and be active at any size. - This site is a service provided by the U.S. National Library of Medicine and the National Institutes of Health. It contains news, reports, and much more information on obesity along with links to many additional sites. - Provides information about overweight, obesity and treatment strategies. AOA advocates with the government and health care and insurance industries for research and access to health care. - The National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute offers clinical guidelines on the identification, evaluation, and treatment of overweight and obesity in adults. This site includes information for consumers and professionals. - This site was created by the American Academy of Pediatrics. It contains resources for families and physicians as well as news and advocacy about overweight and obese children. - The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) links kids, adults and educators to resources and information on fitness, nutrition, healthy weight and community initiatives. - The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) links to a variety of information about obesity and overweight in the U.S. and promotes physical health and good nutrition. - Smallstep.gov is the latest campaign from the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services to give consumers information they need to increase physical activity and lose weight. Sign up for e-newsletters and physical activity trackers. Available in Spanish. - This national campaign helps individuals manage weight through increasing physical activity and decreasing calorie intake by making small daily changes. It has tools for tracking physical activity, email reminders and motivators, tips for making food and activity changes. - Shape Up America! is a national initiative to promote healthy weight and increased physical activity in America. This site contains interactive quizzes, resources and information, and diet and exercise tips for maintaining healthy weight and physical activity. - This Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) Web site contains articles, reports and links on obesity prevention and healthy living. |
